I hope the weather improves soon good photo
Janet Holden: Thanks Vintage. No improvement in the foreseeable future unfortunately.
Ohhhh! i like this one Janet... i like it a lot....petersmile
Janet Holden: Thanks Peter. Just looking for the ladies and came across Newlyn Harbour front late afternoon
One pricy fish!
I like your shot of this boat - he looks like he's waving at you!
Janet Holden: Thank you Elizabeth. He does doesn't he
Is he waving to you ??...... Great shot for boat friday
Janet Holden: Thanks Shane. I don't know but I suspect he wasn't

I saw on television that most of the boats haven't been out since before Christmas because of the high seas
Janet Holden: Yes. Things must be very difficult for the fishermen. Thanks Lisl

There's something very cozy about this, Janet!
Janet Holden: Seems to be a safe place rather than Porthleven harbour where they had to take all the boats out. Thanks Ginnie

This is painful Janet: I remember Newlyn as a bustling place..
Janet Holden: I know Chris. It is devastating for the fishing community

Wow. Great shot. Love how the land rises up from the shore.
Janet Holden: Thanks Mary. Newlyn is Cornwall's biggest fishing town and you can see how the storms have affected it

Was it sold at Sotherbys Janet?
Janet Holden: I don't have insider information Chad, but I would imagine a hotel or resraurant

It seems to me the water has run out of this tub. No wonder there is no more fish.
Janet Holden: Low tide Louis. Safe in the tub so not going out fishing
lovely scenery here!
Janet Holden: Thank you Aderonke. Newlyn is well known for it's fishing
This looks all calm and peaceful but I guess the fishermen must really be suffering from loss of earnings at the very least at the moment.
Janet Holden: Too true Brian. I bet they weren't out today

Lovely photo, Janet. The price of fish will go through the ceiling. The poor fishermen are in a pickle without any earnings coming in. The tourist trade is suffering as well. Very few bookings for holidays.
Janet Holden: It must be very hard for them with no end in sight. Thanks Pauline
I just hope the politicians remember when they say money is no object to put things right that it doesn't just apply to the Thames Valley.
Janet Holden: Good point Bill but I think whatever they say is taken with a pinch of salt
Quite a loss for the fishermen Janet! Let's hope that the weather will be back to normal soonest...
Wonderful image.
Janet Holden: Not looking too good for the foreseeable future Richard, unfortunately. Thanks

Because of the weather? A difficult time for the fishermen. I like the quiet atmosphere and the sparkling ray on the sea.
Janet Holden: Thank you Philine. I expect they will survive
Really nice shot Janet, a fine composition!
Janet Holden: Thank you very much Martin
If they are not going out,it must be bad< Janet, tough guys.
Janet Holden: It is horrendous Frank

Ah... I've not thought about the scarcity of fish. I theory is should be cheaper as all the fish should be be flung up on the quay so no need to go out catching it.. just pick it up smile
Janet Holden: Yeah watch the thyroid
Wow, that must have been a biggie!
Janet Holden: Too right
Supply and demand...
Janet Holden: There you go
At least the boat is still in the water here.

Great picture, love background. I know the prize of fish can be high... but maybe it is worth the money.
