to fend or to feed? A sweet family picture, but I wonder about mum's behaviour?
Janet Holden: To fend as in providing for oneself. I guess they were hurting mum with there teeth and it was time to go their own way. As they were looked after by the Escot crew they didn't go hungry. Thanks Philine

Very nice Janet, they look to me like Iron Age Pigs
Janet Holden: They certainly are an ancient breed Chris and I will take your word for it. Thank you

The babies are so darn cute Janet... and their mother doesn't look wild and scary at all....petersmile
Janet Holden: They are sweet aren't they. We happened to witness her knock one of them with her snout a good few feet away. I expect a lesson was learned. Thanks Peter

Very nice striped coats Janet.
Janet Holden: Aren't they smart Chad
LOL. Weaning our kids has never been an easy job, Janet! smile
Janet Holden: Her method was get your snout under it and knock it away a few feet where it lands with a bang. Short sharp shock treatment
Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind Janet
Janet Holden: This is true Bill.
Look at them, aren't they cute Janet? Very nice family portrait!
Janet Holden: They are sweet aren't they. Thank you Richard
I have never seen a boar and certainly not a baby. They are coloured just like chipmunks.
Janet Holden: I think they are just about wiped out in most places. They still have them in Corsica but we didn't see any

Time to be weaned then, Janet?
Janet Holden: It was looking that way Lisl but they weren't going to go hungry as they were well looked after
How do cute little characters like these grow up to be just the opposite?
Janet Holden: That's a good question Brian but it seems to be prevelent throughout the animal kingdom.
They are very cute... I guess mom has had enough...
